The competition will run over 3 days, during weekend 19th - 21st July 2024
Entries will be taken once the article has been released in Model Engineer on the 5th April. This article will explain how to enter, the number of entries and give a general overview of the club and competition. Entry forms will be sent once requested by email (email address in article).
We will be using the “old school” score board.
The 16mm and gauge one tracks are open for use during the event.
There will be an entry charge of £5 per day or £10 for the 3 days, for any spectator/member of public.
Programs will be available at £3.
There will be trade stands, such as Polly Model Engineering and Keatley Metals, and also around 10-12 craft stalls along side these.
A 9 metre square marquee will be available, for shelter, eating food in and for the evening entertainment.
Saturday evening will feature live music and a meal. At the moment this will be a curry and a chilli.
Camping for tents, caravans and camper vans available. There is also a local Travelodge on Lord Street (closest), a Premier Inn at the Ocean Plaza and a number of local Hotels and B&B's.
Camping and caravans/campers, will be allowed to turn up from noon Wednesday 17th and are allowed to stay until noon Monday 22nd.
There will be a water fill up point. No electricity hookups, but there will be phone charging stations.
Prices:
£20/night per caravan/camper.
£10/night per tent.
Booking is allowed now.
There will be evening running on the Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday.
Visitors are allowed to run.
Any competitor or competing locomotive is not allowed to drive or run until their “competition run” has been completed.
